MediTek Ltd was formed by Mr Kevin Strafford-Price and Mr Derek Nicholson in 1994 and incorporated in 1995.

Kevin and Derek worked together developing Battery Stairlifts and in 1992 a stair lift distributor expressed an interest in the technology and being established as a manufacturer.

The only way the two could develop the superior technology and innovation they wanted was to form their own company, MediTek. By doing so they could supply the very demanding distribution market at the same time without competing against them.

MediTek built one of the best designed and built stair lifts on the market in 1994 which was quick to install, easy to maintain and very reliable.
