MediTek Embraces Cycle to Work Scheme
Friday, 21 October 2011
Staff at MediTek, the global stairlift company, have embraced the, government backed, Cycles to Work scheme.
The scheme, aimed at enticing workers out of their cars, allows employees to fund through their employers a low cost, tax free bicycle.
For MediTek production staff, Kevin Burt, Ken Pearson and Paul Leavy it has proved just the incentive they needed to leave their cars at home and stay fit commuting to and from work.
Paul Leavy, who works in the company Technical support department, said this of the scheme.
“I’ve always been a keen cyclist and was delighted when the company decided to sign up to the scheme as it gave me the opportunity to acquire a great new bike and the incentive to use it more often.”
Of the decision to embrace the scheme MediTek, Managing Director, Phil Rice said.
I’ve been quite impressed with the response so far and certainly the staff members who have taken advantage of the scheme appear to be having no regrets, and neither am I. The cycle to work scheme is a great incentive for employees, boosts our green credentials and saves us money too, as every bike processed through the scheme offers an employer's National Insurance saving.
